Tech Daily with iPad Pro and Google launches

۱- Next-generation iPad Pro line to feature Face ID authentication tech found in the iPhone X, according to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo; Kuo says 2018 iPhones will include the feature as well, fostering ecosystem development.

۲- Zume Pizza, which uses robots to make pies and delivers via oven-equipped trucks, raises $48M Series B of a planned $50M round, according to an SEC filing; raised $23M Series A at a $50M valuation in December, according to Pitchbook; co-founder Julia Collins previously said the company hopes to serve the entire Bay Area by the end of 2018.

۳- eShares, which provides an application enabling companies to issue digital share certificates, raises $39.1M from an undisclosed investor; the SEC-registered transfer agent provides a cap table management platform that claims 5k companies as customers; raised $65M to date.

۴- London-based on-demand laundry services startup Laundryheap raises $2.6M led by Simon Smith and QVentures; has bootstrapped for the last three years; plans to raise roughly $1.3M via crowdfunding in late fall; picks up laundry for washing and dry cleaning; promises 24-hour turnaround.

۵- Google launches Teachable Machine: an experimental, in-browser AI training program; processes input from the user’s camera, learns to recognize specific objects and motions; the user can also program responses; for example, when Techable Machine recognizes a houseplant, it can play a specific audio file; designed to help people understand AI.

۶- Free, user-generated audio company Mixcloud signs licensing agreement with Warner Music; plans a highly customizable paid subscription service by which fans can access specific creator channels; this is Mixcloud’s first deal with a major label; is in negotiations with Universal Music and Sony Music.

۷- Ford is developing transportation services apps based on the software platform developed by Silicon Valley startup Autonomic; has already produced the Non-Emergency Medical Transport app and service for Beaumont Hospital in MI; enables patients to schedule medical appointments and pickups.

۸- Membership-based private aviation company Wheels Up raises $117.5M led by Fidelity and by T Rowe Price accounts; also raised a $90M aircraft financing facility from KKR in June; guarantees availability of private flights for individuals, families and corporate customers; raised $409M to date.

۹- Russian Miner Coin, which develops and produces hardware for mining cryptocurrencies, raises $43M via ICO; had initially targeted $100M but says it only needed to raise $10M to develop its Multiclet processor; will also use funding to produce the Sunrise bulti-in security chip.
