۱- Microsoft updates Cortana with Connected Home feature; users can connect various smart home products and services in the Cortana Notebook settings section; currently supports Wink, Insteon, Nest, SmartThings, and Hue; Harman Kardon’s Cortana-powered smart speaker, Invoke, which will support smart home controls, is launching this fall.

۳- Facebook’s messaging app adopts a new Apple Music bot that supplies song and playlist recommendations based on which emoji the user shares; the bot responds with Apple Music links, and users must subscribe to the paid streaming service in order to hear entire songs.
۴- Hackers exploited non-password-protected Amazon Web Services accounts to mine cryptocurrency, according to cybersecurity company RedLock; international companies Aviva and Gemalto were affected; the attackers accessed unprotected admin panels to use processing power via Kubernetes containers.
۵- The World Solar Challenge, a roughly week-long racing event for solar-powered cars, began today in Darwin; Australia; 42 vehicles are participating in the 1.8k-mile journey to the southern city of Adelaide; Japan’s Tokai University set the race record in 2009 at 29 hours, 49 minutes of drive time; this is the event’s 30th anniversary.
